It gets its name from the shape of a hurricane lamp, which was a curvy oil lantern used on ships - probably a good reason for the nautical/tropical theme. The hurricane glass is possibly more famous than the drink itself. I prefer the Pat O'Brien story, because I like a good cocktail tale. Like any good cocktail history, there are several possibilities. Other stories claim the drink appeared at World's Fair in the '30's. It is said that the New Orleans bar, Pat O'Brien's, invented this drink to use up excess rum stocks in the early 1940's. It has a tangy, sweet-tart taste thanks to the combination of Passion fruit puree and fresh lime juice. Let's admit it up front - this rum-based cocktail packs a punch, but it also tastes darn good! Unlike many drinks that are made with rum and fruit juices, this cocktail is not sweet at all. The Hurricane Cocktail Lives up to its Name This New Orleans classic cocktail is a must at your next Tiki party. Garnish with an orange half-wheel and a preserved cherry. This post-war classic is a must-have if you want a delicious rum-based cocktail with a punch. The Choppa pioneers a simple but effective hardwearing, two-piece design simply pull out the insert and fill with boilies, place the insert back inside the main chamber where the stainless steel blades are safely housed, chop the boilies and simply open the base of the main chamber and watch your perfectly chopped boilies pour out into your bait box or boilie pouch. Thankfully, the tackle experts at RidgeMonkey are ahead of the game, the brand have just introduced the RidgeMonkey Choppa Boilie Cutter, the first purpose-built boilie cutter on the market. However, chopping boilies up on the bank can be time consuming and tedious, in an age, where we have a gadget to aid every aspect of our fishing, it seems unnecessary. Unlike whole boilie that will settle on the lake bed, chopped boilie will settle on top of any weed that you’re fishing over and thanks to its exposed interior the particles within the chopped boilie will breakdown quicker and act as a further attractant, keeping the carp nosing around in your swim for longer. Its latest release, the RidgeMonkey Choppa Boilie Cutter is no different, the first of its kind available on the market place this is a truly pioneering product.Ĭhopped boilie is a favourite among carp anglers, a handful of chopped boilie over the top of your hookbait behaves very differently to whole boilie, the irregular shape of them results in the chopped boilie fluttering down through the water column, making them irresistible to any passing carp. The brand is only concerned with innovative products that really do change the face of angling. If the product is just a rebranded version of something else on the market, the company doesn’t bother with it. Where other brands inspect profitability, RidgeMonkey looks for practicality. It can potentially be used by Maya to quickly heal allies with Restoration if one desires (and is quick enough) to avoid using Res.RidgeMonkey is unique. Salvador can also make better use of the gun by employing ammo-regeneration and various damage buffs. The weapon's fast fire rate works especially well with Krieg when he is using the Bloodlust skill tree, and it benefits greatly from his Bloody Revival skill. It is best used as an emergency weapon for getting a second-winds from close or mid-range enemies. Using a melee attack or switching weapons interrupts the firing and conserves some ammo. Sustained fire from this weapon is supported by the use of the ammo stockpile relic, but even then, the large magazine size, ammo cost, and rate of fire means that the gun can only be reloaded twice at most. Because it empties its entire magazine with a single trigger pull, and at an exceptionally high rate, it is easy to run out of ammunition before nearby foes can be dispatched. To use this weapon in standard combat can be extremely costly, in some cases even more than most rocket launchers. Extremely fast fire rate and low accuracy. Continuously shoots with only one press of the trigger. The CHOPPER can only be obtained as a rare drop from Dexiduous the Invincible located in Hunter's Grotto. I like throwing in green grapes, an apple, and a pear for even more green goodness - but when I don't have those on hand, I go for frozen blueberries. This variety of kale is less bitter than curly, but it's still pretty bitter so I usually combine it with spinach to lessen the burden. We decided it was a good time to do the 3 day. Between the kale, parsley, and spirulina (an algae powder that's basically like taking the green of vegetables in its most concentrated form), this is the super-green smoothie. My boyfriend and I returned back home after Christmas feeling lethargic and I in particular felt a bit blue. The "ZJ" models, manufactured from 1992 until 1998, originally came in three trim levels: base (also known as SE), Laredo, and Limited, subsequent trims were added, including Orvis (MY 95–98) and TSI (MY97–98). The original Grand Cherokee was launched in 1992 as a 1993 model year vehicle in the luxury SUV segment. Main article: Jeep Grand Cherokee (ZJ) 1993–1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee (US) 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (USA) Upon its introduction, it was the first full-scale manufacture of an automobile in the US using HFC-134a refrigerant in place of HCFC-12 for the HVAC system. The Grand Cherokee "played a significant part in reviving Chrysler's fortunes by moving it into the then-nascent market for high-margin sports utility vehicles." European Grand Cherokees are manufactured in Austria by Magna Steyr. Production of the Grand Cherokee started shortly afterward in the purpose-built Jefferson North Assembly in Detroit, Michigan. Sales of the 1993 model year Grand Cherokee began in April 1992. Then Chrysler president Robert Lutz drove Detroit mayor, Coleman Young, from the Jefferson North Assembly Plant on North Jefferson Avenue via a police escort to Cobo Hall, up the steps of Cobo Hall and through a plate glass window to show off the new vehicle. The vehicle that was driven was a Poppy Red Clear Coat 1993 Grand Cherokee ZJ Laredo with a quartz cloth interior and high-back bucket seats. The Grand Cherokee debuted in grand fashion at the 1992 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. A Dodge-branded version was designed as a precaution should Jeep dealers struggle to handle so many Grand Cherokee units. Unlike the Explorer, the Grand Cherokee utilized monocoque (unibody) construction, whereas the Explorer was a derivative of the Ranger pickup with a separate body-on-frame. Development work for the new Jeep model continued and Chrysler's employees (after the 1987 buyout of AMC) were eager for a late-1980s release date however, CEO Lee Iacocca was pushing for redesigned Chrysler minivans, thus delaying the Grand Cherokee's release until late 1992 as an Explorer competitor. The Grand Cherokee thus became the first Chrysler-badged Jeep product. The system was so effective that after Chrysler purchased AMC in 1987, it expanded the system throughout its enterprise, thus connecting everyone involved in designing and building products. Meanwhile, new communication systems allowed potential conflicts to be resolved faster, thus reducing costly engineering changes, because all drawings and documents were in a central database. The XJC's development was aided by computer-aided design (CAD) software systems making the engineers more productive. automaker was looking for a way to speed up its product development process to compete better against its larger competitors. According to François Castaing, Vice President for Product Engineering and Development, the smallest U.S. Īs AMC began the development of the next Jeep in 1985, management created a business process that is now known as product lifecycle management (PLM). However, the basic design for the Cherokee's replacement was well under way by AMC's in-house designers and the 1989 Jeep Concept 1 show car foretold the basic design. Three outside (non-AMC) designers- Larry Shinoda, Alain Clenet, and Giorgetto Giugiaro-were also under contract with AMC to create and build a clay model of the Cherokee XJ replacement, then known as the "XJC" project. The Grand Cherokee's origins date back to 1983 when American Motors Corporation (AMC) was designing a successor to the smaller Jeep Cherokee (XJ). At its introduction, while most SUVs were still manufactured with body-on-frame construction, the Grand Cherokee has used a unibody chassis from the start. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a range of mid-size SUVs produced by the American manufacturer Jeep. When does the PWFA go into effect, and will the public have input on any regulations?.More than 30 states and cities have laws that provide accommodations for pregnant workers. The PWFA does not replace federal, state, or local laws that are more protective of workers affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions. Existing laws that the EEOC enforces make it illegal to fire or otherwise discriminate against workers on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions. The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) is a new law that requires covered employers to provide “reasonable accommodations” to a worker’s known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, unless the accommodation will cause the employer an “undue hardship.” What is the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act?.This document provides a summary of key portions of the NPRM. Splitting Midi or Audio ClipsĬMD + E – Splitting clips is made super easy by moving the play marker to the part of the clip you want to split. This will insert a new blank Midi clip within the highlighted area you selected. Thankfully, inserting a Midi clip is as easy as highlighting the length of the clip you want and pressing CTRL + SHIFT +M. That means a lot of notes to write in Midi clips. Insert A Midi ClipĬMD + SHIFT + M – If you’re using Ableton Live, you’re likely using soft synths as well. Just highlight the area and press CMD + J, now there is a new consolidated clip on each track. You can consolidate clips on multiple tracks too. Easy peasy, just highlight the area that you want to consolidate and press CMD + J. You want to save your creation as a single wave file so you can move it around easily. Consolidate ClipsĬMD + J – Let’s say you’re chopping up some samples in Live. Dragging them around will morph the envelope.Ĭlips are a fundamental part of Ableton Live and there are many shortcuts that make working with clips easier. Highlight the section of the envelope you want to morph and click on one of the dots that appear around the clip. Highlight + Click + Drag – Ableton lets you morph your envelopes in the automation lane. Instead of stepping your drawing the envelope will be drawn smooth. If you want to bypass this while drawing automation curves, hold CMD while drawing. Bypass Snap ModeĬMD + Draw – If you have your grid turned on in arrangement view, drawing an envelope will result in strange stepped shapes. Click one to add it to the automation lane. At the bottom of the click menu you will see 10 shapes. Simply highlight the area you want to add the curve to and right-click. Highlight + Right Click + Select Shape – Ableton comes with 10 pre-defined curves you can add to your automation envelopes. Using curves will help smooth out the automation and gives you more control over what you hear. You can also right click on any existing breakpoint and select “Edit Value” to edit the value of that breakpoint. Turns out, there is a shortcut for that! When adding a breakpoint, right click on the envelope and select “Add Value” to choose the value you want to set your breakpoint at. Usually I would just expand the track view to get close to the value I want. I always struggled with setting my envelopes at the correct value. Right Click -> Add/Edit Value – This is a super helpful tip that I just learned not long ago. Tapping the B key will toggle between draw mode and breakpoint mode. Toggle Draw Modeī – Automation envelopes can be either drawn in with your mouse or can be set with breakpoints. Tapping the a key on your keyboard will toggle between automation tracks and clip tracks. Toggle AutomationĪ – New to Live in version 10 was the toggle shortcut for automation. Ableton Live has probably the best automation platform of all of the DAWs. NordPass estimates that the average internet user has between 70 and 80 passwords. Password manager services usually offer user-friendly web interfaces, apps or browser extensions where you can access your encrypted vault using your master password. You only need to remember a single master password to access the encrypted vault - from which you can access all of the other passwords you have stored. Why you need a password managerĪ password manager is an online service that provides an encrypted vault where you can store the login credentials for all of your online accounts so you don't have to remember them. Take a look below to see which one would work best for you - and check back often because this list is subject to change as we continue to test and evaluate password managers. The top five password managers are all excellent choices, and some are better than others for certain use cases, independent of where they fall in the rankings. I also highlighted a handful of additional notable password managers that I tested that didn't quite make the cut for varying reasons, but still may be a good fit for your needs. Based on my rigorous testing, I was able to narrow the list down to the five best password managers that excelled across all of my testing criteria. I tested a dozen of the most popular password managers on the market and evaluated everything from encryption to pricing, features, platform compatibility, privacy policies and company history. Bitwarden is currently CNET's top pick for the best password manager, thanks in part to its commitment to transparency and its unbeatable free tier. So if you want a safe and convenient way to remember them all, you should invest in a trustworthy password manager. But remembering dozens of complex and unique codes for every website and service you use is a serious headache. It's never a good idea to use the same password for all of your online accounts. Luckily the key to a successful van offering is on par with how Jeep offers Wrangler (or how you can get it equipped from the vast aftermarket options). So why Jeep and why now? The truth is that the brand should have pushed this to the front of the To-Do list 10 years back because the Van-Life trend may have already peaked. Oh, and if you think the RAM Promaster has anything to offer to the van-lifer, well, it’s basically the worst option with horrible ergonomics and front wheel drive meh! A Jeep Van GM doesn’t offer the high-top euro style vans, but thankfully still offers body on frame and healthy V8 options (400 horsepower 6.6L gas Power!), but you can only option them new with 4×4 if run through an upfitter such as Quigley 4×4 for a final price on par with the prior two brands. Ford is right there with Mercedes with the Transit at maybe a little less expensive to buy in, but on par when outfitted. Mercedes of course has its Sprinter lineup, which starts at $50k+ and climbs quickly to five times that when built out with AWD.
For the first time, Hansberry’s sexuality has emerged as a meaningful component of her identity, one that demands consideration in any account of her life and work. Since 2014, three biographies, two documentaries, and a half-dozen exhibitions, commemorative works, and awards-nominated theater revivals have recovered what Soyica Diggs Colbert has called Hansberry’s “radical vision” as an enduring source of wisdom for the present. Today, we are in the midst of a Hansberry renaissance that one hopes will be her last. Critics, eager to explain away a young Black woman who challenged the limits of their understanding, have been quick to write off Hansberry’s oeuvre beyond Raisin as “the poor remnants of an unfinished life.” As a result, Hansberry’s life and influence have come in and out of focus since her death in 1965: she has been rediscovered each decade, celebrated, and then sidelined anew. Thanks to the tireless work of her literary estate-headed in its early years by her ex-husband, Robert Nemiroff-Hansberry never slipped entirely out of print or public consciousness, but her afterlife has been full of false starts. As Black art and politics took an increasingly militant turn in the years after Hansberry’s death, her popularity waned. Hansberry’s politics may have been far-left, but audiences understood Raisin as a liberal paean to assimilation. A Raisin in the Sun, her 1959 play about a Black American family’s struggle against housing segregation, made her the first Broadway-produced Black woman playwright and the youngest-ever winner of the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award. This has not always been the case: Hansberry died young, a one-hit wonder and widely misunderstood. She is secure in the pantheon of twentieth-century literary greats, unequivocally a foremother of Black American drama. With each passing year, Lorraine Hansberry rests more comfortably on her laurels. Visit the Evergreen UK Boutique crystal store here to see their plentiful range of crystals and gifts.
